Insomnia (By Curiosity)

INSOMNIA

I toss

I turn.

The rich heartlands burn,

and of naiveness, I stink.

I need reality’s slap

across my wounded cheek.

I toss

I turn.

The poor wastelands burn

and of longing, I reek.

I am lured into reality’s trap

across realization’s lonely street.

I toss

I turn—

Insomnia.
