THE CURIOUS FELINE
Curiosity will be the death of her.
It will surely kill the inquiring feline.
The truth will resign to strangle her
leaving her hung by a tiny noose.
Such curiosity will be rewarded
with the intolerable truth.
I invite her into my mind’s deceit.
My diary is so heavy
a ton and a half of excess baggage.
I ponder if she can muster even an inkling
of an understanding of real feelings.
Can she fathom my twenty-year-old
résumé of torment?
If so, then I invite her to read forward
to prance through my journal of heartbreak.
