“AVOIDANCE ISSUE”
Who really cares about the fan fare?
When you slowly descend like a fallen leaf?
I long for October’s tender caress
In the roaring blizzard of early January.
Who really cares about all this fan fare?
When the full moon provokes images of lost beauty.
I search for the face of my past lover
As the thousands of cameras flicker wildly.
Who really cares about the fan fare?
When you aspire to find calmer terrains.
I long for the cabin in the secluded mountains
To simply get away for a while.
Who really cares about all this fan fare?
When human nature clouds better judgment.
I search for someone who is neutral
In this growing crowd of spectators.

Great poem. Longing for anonymity in a crowd. Poignant. I’m looking forward to reading more of your poetry.
